The Philippines is making history as it advances to the 2nd round of its group qualifying games courtesy of its trashing the Sri Lankans. The Azkals ( street dogs) as they are known, are leaving to Bahrain to prepare againts its much stronger, much experienced and higher rated soccer nation of Kuwait. Looking at the lineup of the Philippine team, one cannot see why it has progressed thus far.
Gone were the pure blooded Filipino team, as Fil-foreigners players are now playing for their estranged country and of course the German coach. This is not uncommon though, as other countries are doing that. That just show how littler this world has become. Was it the French team , where there was no pure blooded French on their first eleven. It is now a trend. And its good for the beautiful game to prosper in this basketball crazy nation.
